Samuel Paul Buchanan was the third child born to Columbus Theodore Buchanan and Margaret Jane Buchanan (Lawson). He married Myrtle Jane McCulley October 10, 1915. They had four children.

Samuel Paul was the minister at the Northside Church of Christ in Chattanooga TN and was instrumental in establishing several congregations in the area. He was one of the founders of Boyd-Buchanan School.

He is buried at Greenwood Cemetery in Chattanooga, TN. - Find-A-Grave

The Greenwood Cemetery in Chattanooga is located in the northeast section near downtown. The best access from the east of the city will be to take I-75 to exit 3 and head north on Hwy. 153. Go to Exit south on Hwy. 17. Exit 5b. and head south on Hwy. 17/Bonnie Oaks Dr. Bonnie Oaks will become Campbell Street. Stay on Campbell Street (Note: Hwy 17 will go to the right, but stay on Campbell St.) Campbell St. will become Greenwood Rd. Turn into the cemetery. The map below shows the actual location in the cemetery where the grave is located. Otherwise you will need to stop at the office for assistance. Plot: Hillcrest 11-5. The actual GPS location of the grave is: 35°03'40.5"N 85°14'09.7"W / or D.d. 35.061261, -85.236016
