| John S. Barker was a self-proclaimed prophet of God. He lived in Limestone County, Alabama. During the course of his adult life, he influenced a number of people to depart from churches of Christ to follow his peculiar teachings. The group refered to themselves as Barkerites. He lived and died near his home February 17, 1934, and is buried in the Barker Family Cemetery | |

From Hwy. 72 in Rogersville, Alabama head north on Main St. (Hwy. 207) and turn right on College Street (Co. Rd. 26.) The road will become Upper Snake Road. Go about five miles and turn right on Lovell Rd. The old house will be on the right. |

From Hwy. 72 in Rogersville, Alabama head north on Main St. (Hwy. 207) and turn right on College Street (Co. Rd. 26.) The road will become Upper Snake Road (Co. Rd. 20). Continue until you come to Barker Cemetery Road on the right. The cemetery is at the end of the road. |
