Marshall Wyers was a long and greatly appreciated minister of the gospel in the area surrounding Winfield, Alabama. He preached for the Winfield Church of Christ for many years. After retiring from full-time work in the late 1970's, his son, James Wyers, moved back into the area and began preaching at the congregation in 1982. In many circles in the vicinity of northwest Alabama, the name Wyers invokes many thoughts of thanksgiving and great appreciation for Christian service and leadership. Much of this is because of the good work of Marshall Wyers, and continues through his son and family. Wyers passed away March 20, 1986 and is buried in the Winfield City Cemetery.
