Stone's Christian Messenger as having died while evangelizing in the
North Central Region Of Tennessee.

Grave Of Daniel Travis
Elder Daniel Travis is
buried in the Gallatin Cemetery in Gallatin, Tennessee. The cemetery
is just south of downtown Gallatin at the corner of W. Winchester
St. and Cemetery Avenue.
North of Nashville on I-65
take Exit 96/ Vietnam Veterans Parkway/Hwy.386 toward Gallatin. Go
to the end of the parkway and continue NE on Hwy. 31E/6 to Gallatin.
In Gallatin turn right on US25/Main St. and go to the first right,
Cemetery Ave. Go down Cemetery Ave. three blocks and the cemetery
will be on the right. Turn right into the cemetery and fork to the
right. Go to the rear of the cemetery. When you are even with the
office on that drive you will notice the oldest monuments in the
cemetery to your left. Get out of your car and go in toward the
office just a few monuments. The monument will be just in front of a
large monument. The specific location is Section A - Row 6.
While in Gallatin be sure
to go out and visit the grave of J.B.
Gaither, in Crestview Cemetery. You will also be close to the
old homeplace and grave of F.M. Carmack.

that Elder Daniel Travis died August 25th, 1827. However, The
Christian Messenger reported his death in the November 25th, 1826
issue as having taken place in July of 1826. Therefore the stone
shows the wrong date of his death.
