Gerald Dean "Jerry" Buchanan, 78, of Dublin, Ga., died Thursday, Oct. 11, 2007. Visitation was 6-8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, 2007, at Townsend Funeral Home, Dublin, Ga. Funeral services will be at 12:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 15, 2007, in Greenview Memorial Chapel, with interment in Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Buchanan was born in Detroit, Mich. He was the son of the late Oliver Buchanan and the late Hazel Williamson Buchanan. He was a minister of the gospel for 53 years, serving in Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee, Michigan, Florida, Texas and off and on for 18 years in Georgia. He was serving his third time in Dublin at the Bellevue Road Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Farley Buchanan, of Dublin, Ga.; daughters, Geryl Buchanan Plunket, of Dublin, Ga., and Melissa Buchanan Blackman and husband, Gregg, of Jacksonville, Fla.; brothers, Robert Buchanan and wife, Barbara, of Davao City, Philippine Islands, Harold Buchanan and wife, Beverly, of Green Hill, Ala., and William "Bill" Buchanan and wife, Leslie, of Taylor, Mich; grandchildren, Ryan Plunket, Rachel Plunket, Leigh Plunket, Katie Blackman and Allie Blackman.
